One way is preserving trees and plants of the like to absorb CO2 and CO. Although there is an extremely large amount in the atmosphere already, trees and other plants can help absorb the carbon dioxide and monoxide and reduce the heat in the atmosphere. If deforestation was no longer a factor in destroying wildlife, there would be lower levels of greenhouse gases.
Another way is by preserving the natural species, such as regular animals like ants. If they die out, even a single species of them, then globally, predators would die off, and prey would overpopulate. Preserving even a single species of animals will keep the whole ecosystem alive, and will affect the whole globe because of the nature of travel. Worms are eaten by birds, birds fly all over the world, and they are eaten by predators that we eat.

How do habitat destruction and loss on species effect more than just one area?
Deforestation in India and Bangladesh is increasing the danger and death rate from flooding and mud slides, because nothing is there to slow and stop it. Also, with the rate of deforestation, the oxygen production is threatened, the atmosphere is gaining more pollution, and the other species in the ecosystems are at risk, which is leading the ecosystem to destruction.

How does preserving biodiversity enhance the life of people?
Preserving biodiversity will enhance the life of people by bringing new medicines and cures, as well as research, into our lives. Hundreds of species of worms and fish paralyze their prey with "conotoxins", which can be harvested and used for researching cells and creating new medicines. They have 10 to 40 amino acids in them, and they can be used for many other uses as well, such as preventing cell death and curing clinical depression. Cone snails produce this toxin, and they are at risk of soon extinction, because of habitat loss. If they die off, the human race loses a source of medicine, and a natural cure.
